Last night

We visited Siena on our way back to Rome today. Father Thom celebrated Mass at the hotel when we arrived, then we went to dinner. We saw a protest, complete with riot patrol on our way to dinner. The kids are now preparing for our departure tomorrow morning.

Thursday & Friday

The Internet is very slow here so I was not able to update last night. We visited Assisi yesterday on our way to Florence. We had a night stroll of Florence to acquaint ourselves to the city. Today we had a guided tour of the city and then we had free time the entire afternoon. We have dinner in a little bit, followed by my favorite (insert sarcasm), the disco. Tomorrow we go back to Rome with a stop in Siena. I am not sure what the Internet will be like at our hotel in Rome, so I may not be able to update until we get back home.

Wednesday

We had an awesome experience at the Papal Audience this morning. We were able to meet up with Bishop Amos prior to the audience (see the picture below). During our lunch break there were 31 students and parents that walked to the Cupola of St. Peter's. The afternoon included stops at St. Paul Outside the Walls (3rd picture below) and St. John Lateran. We take off for Assisi and then Florence early tomorrow morning.

Tuesday

We visited the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica today. We also walked across about all of Rome. We saw the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. We finished the day with a pizza dinner. All is well and all of the kids are now healthy.

Monday night

Sorry, but no new pictures tonight. My adapter fizzled out on me. I have found a new one and my camera battery should be charged for tomorrow's agenda. we all had a wonderful dinner on our own around Piazza Navona.

Tomorrow we will be visiting the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica. We will also do a walking tour of Rome that will include the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and many more wonderful places. I will try to get a post up tomorrow with pictures, it depends on how the schedule works out for us.

Monday tours

I was not able to make it to the Catacombs (sick student, he seems to be better now) so I will see if one of the others can make an update on that visit. Here are some pictures from this morning.

Can you find yourself or your child in the following two photos?

Monday morning

This morning we will be visiting the Colosseum and Roman Forum. This afternoon will involve a trip to one of the Catacombs just outside of Rome. This evening is an "on your own" dinner night around the Piazza Navona.
